Grouts the Bakers

Grouts the bakers is a traditional family bakery with over 60 years experience of producing high quality bread and cakes. The company has its roots in a small beach kiosk on Canvey Island, which was opened by Bertram and Lillian Grout in 1946.

The business was developed by their son Noel and became a highly organised family bakers using only the finest quality ingredients. The original motto of Freshness, quality, and service is still adhered to today.

Bertram and Lillian’s grandchildren are responsible for running the business now. They maintain the belief in producing high quality goods made from scratch using traditional craft skills and carefully selected ingredients. There are now a total of twelve shops serving the area surrounding Canvey Island, and we insist on an excellent level of customer care and great tasting products.
